I purchased the WDI Foundation Package and it has been such a game changer for my small program!
I started expanding my service dog training program nearly three years ago and have been hit over and over with growing pains and founder fatigue. While I have the knowledge and experience to train service dogs, managing a larger organization full of volunteers, staff and 5+ dogs was such a drain on my time, mental energy and areas of experience. I often found myself doing tasks that I didn’t have the knowledge or skills to accomplish efficiently, and struggled with delegating and training key staff and volunteers effectively. The foundation package was thorough, thoughtful and effective. I still have a lot of work to do but have priorities and realistic timelines for accomplishing these tasks that will save me time and energy in the long run, and that will stabilize my program for the sake of all clients, staff and volunteers. Katelyn and Jackie are a great team and approach every aspect of running a program, from long-term breeding program management to both large and small administration tasks and delegation. They met separately with my key volunteers and staff and are helping to give them ownership of tasks that have bogged down my day-to-day, freeing me up to focus on the big picture.
I will be taking their suggestions and following their guided five year plan, but will also be utilizing consulting hours as needed when I find tasks to be outside of my wheelhouse. I’m glad that I’m able to use their consulting to support me where needed, train staff and train me on how to manage the program more effectively.
